| The easy access to the mountains' touristic itineraries is assured by Bucharest's position, in the centre of the Romanian Plain, as most rivers flow towards it. On their valleys modern access roads have been constructed. At the same time, from Transylvania, as well as from towns like Brasov, Targu Mures, Sibiu, Deva you can travel along the valleys from the source. Only 10-15% of the Carpathians' touristic potential is being used. Many peeks and massifs still wait their valorification, some places being excellent points for great resorts: Aries's valley, at Arieseni, Leaota, Ialomija's superior valley, in the Bucegi region, Vidra and Lotru's source, the Capra Valley in Fagaras, the Raraul massif, the Baiului mountains, the Parang and the Small Mountains and many others. |
